Duct leakage may be causing poor airflow. Leaky ductwork often means that some rooms or even entire floors of you home will be uncomfortable. And that means no matter how long you run your system or even how powerful of a heating and air conditioning unit you own -- you may not be getting all the air you need to feel good.

Duct leakage may be causing your system to perform inefficiently. Leaky ductwork often means that you have to use more energy to be comfortable. It may also mean your system is "overcompensating" by pushing or pulling too much air through the wrong parts of you house -- and making a lot of noise through the return air grille in the process.

Duct leakage may be causing your indoor air quality problems. The problem with leaky ductwork is that air can not only leak out of you HVAC system and air ducts -- untreated and unclean air and contaminants from the crawlspaces, attic and other place can actually be pulled in to the air you and your family breath. Since so many air duct systems leak and pull bad air in (we find 20 to 40% leakage in 3 out of 4 homes we visit), poor air quality is a problem that many homes have.

Aeroseal Duct Work Studies

Field studies were performed around the country to test and improve Aeroseal's sealing capability on all types of duct work systems. Leaks sealed with Aeroseal are guaranteed for 10 years. A computer program was developed to quickly test duct work systems for leakage, room air flow problems, combustion safety, air temperature and return air performance. The computer program also controls the machine during sealing and tracks and documents the process in every house. Aeroseal has performed duct work technology demonstration projects for many of the nation's utilities including PG&E, PEPCO, FPL, SMUD, SDG&E, Austin Energy, Reliant Energy, and College Station Utilities.

Aeroseal Duct Work Improvements

Aeroseal began licensing its duct work improvement technology in January 1999 to a limited number of experienced HVAC contractors in each market area. Aeroseal trains and certifies the duct work and HVAC contractors to use the computerized duct system diagnostics and the aerosol duct work sealing technology. Our customers receive a computer analysis of the condition of the air ducts before work starts. When work is completed, they receive a certificate stating that their duct work system has been properly sealed.
